Discover Tambo De Tacama

When you’re in Ica, Peru, and craving a hearty, flavorful meal that reflects the rich culture of the region, Tambo De Tacama is the place to be. Located at Cam. Real 390, Ica 11004, this restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience with a menu that showcases the best of Peruvian cuisine. Whether you're a local or a visitor, stepping into this warm, inviting space feels like being welcomed into a friend’s home.

What sets Tambo De Tacama apart from other dining spots in the area is its authentic, locally inspired dishes. As soon as you enter, you’re greeted by a charming atmosphere filled with rustic decor that mirrors the traditional, yet modern touch of the region. The dining space is cozy and inviting, offering a relaxing ambiance that allows guests to truly enjoy their meals.

The menu at Tambo De Tacama features a variety of dishes that bring the flavors of Peru to life. From the famous ceviche to hearty stews and grilled meats, there’s something for everyone. A personal favorite here is their lomo saltado, a stir-fry dish that combines tender beef, crispy fries, and fresh vegetables, all tossed together in a savory soy-based sauce. It’s the kind of dish that perfectly balances bold flavors with familiar comfort.

One of the highlights of Tambo De Tacama is their dedication to using locally sourced ingredients. The freshness of the produce is apparent in every bite, and it’s clear that the chefs here take pride in supporting local farmers and producers. This commitment to quality is evident not only in the flavor of the dishes but also in their sustainable approach to food sourcing.

If you’re in the mood for seafood, Tambo De Tacama offers an excellent ceviche that’s both fresh and tangy, made with the finest fish and complemented by zesty lime and cilantro. For those who prefer something heartier, their arroz con mariscos (seafood rice) is a crowd-pleaser, with a perfect blend of spices and perfectly cooked seafood mixed with fluffy rice.

For dessert, the restaurant’s classic tres leches cake is a must-try. Moist and rich, this traditional Peruvian dessert offers a satisfying sweetness that’s just the right ending to a meal. You’ll also find options like lucuma-flavored ice cream, which is a uniquely Peruvian treat made from the country’s native fruit.

Tambo De Tacama is also known for its extensive drink menu, which features a variety of Peruvian wines and cocktails. The pisco sour, a national drink of Peru, is a standout, made with freshly squeezed lime juice, egg whites, sugar, and, of course, pisco. It’s the perfect drink to sip on as you enjoy the lively, welcoming atmosphere.

What makes Tambo De Tacama such a special place is not just the food but the genuine warmth of the service. The staff is friendly and attentive, always eager to ensure that every guest feels comfortable and well taken care of. They’re knowledgeable about the menu and more than happy to make recommendations, especially if you're unfamiliar with Peruvian cuisine. It’s this personal touch that keeps guests coming back time and again.

Whether you’re looking to enjoy a relaxed lunch or celebrate a special occasion with family and friends, Tambo De Tacama delivers an exceptional experience. The restaurant’s commitment to providing high-quality food, paired with its warm service and inviting ambiance, makes it one of the top dining spots in Ica. • Be aware that on holidays English tours schedule doesn’t match to those in their website. We arrived shortly after 2pm to join the 3pm tour and they said the next one is at 4:30pm only. Ended up with Spanish tour instead. Which was not a big deal as 20 out of 50 minutes tour they let us watch a video about the winery with English subtitles. Then it was like 10 minutes tour to new production facilities with short explanations and another 20 minutes super fast wine tasting. Venue itself is pretty but everything is very commercialized and overpriced

  • Beautifully winery, the oldest in South America. We did the wine tasting of the gama alta and we really enjoyed the experience. It takes place in an underground cellar by a very knowledgeable sommelier. It is quite pricey (110 soles pp) but it was well worth it.

  • A real gem in just 15 minutes away from Ica Perfect location for agritourism lovers. A cozy garden with tables outside, some area to walk around and a great selection of peruvian dishes is a lucky combo for lunch on a sunny day. The staff is polite and attentive. Do ask for food recommendations and wine pairing.

  • We like the tour of the facilities and installations. We had a very professional tour guide and enjoyed the colors of the flowers and setting. At the end of our tour, we had lunch, which was delicious and a very good service . I highly recommend to visit Tambo de Tacama when you are in Ica

  • Amazing winery. we did the grand tour with tasting and it great, also the food was really good, and everyone was so nice, worth the visit. They have tours in English and Spanish, just check before arriving when is the tour you want. Also they have taxis waiting outside for when you finish eating/drinking.

  • All I can say is wow. Eating lunch here was a once and a life time experience. All the staff was very professional and attentive. The food and drinks were delicious. The horse show was such a unique form of entertainment. The atmosphere was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced- sophisticated yet connected to nature. This may not be the cheapest place to eat but it certainly it worth the price. I will remember my lunch here for years to come!

  • Wow what an unexpected gem in the middle of the Peruvian desert! We first did the tour with our tour guide Gustavo. His English was excellent and his enthusiasm and knowledge were more than we could expect. The vineyard and the idyllic landscape are a sight to behold; having lunch here is a must! The food is really good and the service too. I pretty much have no remarks except that the wine tasting was a bit hasty for my taste. All in all a must-see for Ica/Huacachina!

  • I was beyond impressed with the food and the service. I don’t drink alcoholic but I still went out of my way to try it. ¡Delicioso! Les recomiendo: la empanada, la causa, el ají de gallina and the cow heart was surprisingly delicious. The juices were FANTASTIC! Apple dessert was killer. The ambiance and horse display were the cherries on top.
